Running, Spotify and BPM
With the discontinuance of Spotify running support, I’ve been fiddling around with Spotify and various playlists. Mostly I just choose a target run pace, search for a playlist (eg. one that has 165 BPM in the title), hit play and go.
However this doesn’t necessarily help a lot in my quest to get faster.
So I find myself trying to mix interval-style playlists.
My first foray has found me using the “Sort your Music” site at http://sortyourmusic.playlistmachinery.com/ to load up my Spotify playlists, sort my existing lists by BPM, and then pulling out titles that have a BPM and track length that kinda fits. I can then cut and paste this in to Excel and sort to suit the intervals I want.
This is my 6km list:
If you’re interested in this list, you can access it from here (although the music may not be to everyone’s taste). The method was much easier than trying to work it out manually, as I could go to the “Sort your Music” site and the values were pretty easy to put into Excel.
If you know an easier way to do this, please let me know in the comments below.
