Traffic View on Google Maps
Ok maybe some of you know this already, but holy smokes, Batman! This was such a freakin’ revolution for me that I’m definitely using it more often.
I actually noticed it when I was using Google maps to pick a route for me on my iPhone one day, but thought it was strictly an aid available in navigation mode. I didn’t realise they have a passive preview so that you can see the traffic around a certain area, without needing to navigate through it.
On the iPad it’s available as a mode in the menus (see screenshot above).
It appears to work on a three-colour model (red-heavy, yellow-light, and green-none, or little). Wow. Super cool. And yes we have it in Singapore, too!
