I’m a Bitch [Not Everyone Should Travel]

Sitting on a plane next to someone with bad breathe is usually uncomfortable. When the fella is a 20 something sotong who doesn’t know what date to put on his immigration card next to his signatue (today’s date), and wants me to detail to him all the types and ways that he will be ripped off because he was ripped off in Thailand.

He does all this with a conspiracy-type whisper, leaning over on to my side of the chair (stiiiinky).

I wanted to shout at him!! “Go home, sotong!!”

Not fair, I know. But it’s people like this that cause Asian countries to be labelled ‘dangerous’ and cause travel warnings to be issued.

Fucking sotong keeps turning his phone on! We’re gonna die!!

Visa for Vietnam [Trustworthy Vendors in Singapore and Online]

Not carrying a South East Asian passport, I need a visa for entry into Vietnam.

There are two mobs that I use – one, in Singapore, you have to physically surrender your passport to for a few days (which is OK – they’re a good lot). Go to:

Download the forms first, from their website, and make sure you take 2 passport photos with you. You can also view all charges and processing time. If you go to the embassy, these are the guys that you will see there.

The other mob is online. I’m a lazy slitch and don’t really want to go all the way to the city! (LOL) I’ve used these guys twice now – once for normal processing and once for urgent, and they’ve delivered in both instances. This one is a little more inconvenient in that I have to stop at a counter on arrival in Vietnam and submit letters, forms and fees before proceeding through the immigration area, but it’s not too much of an issue for me. They are a little cheaper, especially with the US exchange rate at the moment.

Have Dog, Will Travel

Keeping in theme with my other post related to animals and travel, this was a snap taken from a taxi as we were driving to another shopping or food destination in Ho Chin Minh City (Saigon) in Vietnam.

As someone who lectures in logistics, I am always amazed at the inventiveness of people who are determined to get goods to travel, but this guy had built a custom seat for his German Shepherd!

Bloody fantastic is all I can say, and he was so proud of his dog… he sat up straighter on the bike and posed while riding as we sped past! LEGEND!
