I’ve been Tagged!

Tag - You’re It!I was tagged by Craver. He has asked me questions from Cuckoo regarding the topic : What Does Blogging Mean to Me!

Rules of this tag:

  1. Name the person with link who tagged you.
  2. Complete the questionnaire without changing the questions.
  3. Tag 6 or more people.

Q1. Are you happy/ satisfied with your blog, with its content and look? I’m loving WordPress – I host my own blog and I love to fiddle with the options and layout. I’m the sort that likes to take a layout, make it my own, tweak and fiddle until it’s something that denotes my home on the web. WordPress allows me to customise, add countless widgets, do funky things with the code (like recognise my visitors – I didn’t write that one, but it’s waaay coooool!

Q2. Does your family know about your blog? Yes, some of them – and I overheard DH say that of all the people (read: REAL LIVE PEOPLE that he knows in the flesh) he knows who blog, mine is the best *blush*. He has to say that as he’s my husband, but he also hasn’t read some other blogs that I read and considers alot of it a waste of time. The rest of my family drop in and comment occasionally – and that includes cousins and sisters.

Q3. Do you feel embarrassed to let your friends know about your blog or you just consider it as a private thing? Why be embarrassed? If you’re embarrassed, then don’t blog. There are a tonne of things that I DON’T put here. Why? Because if I did then I might be embarrassed. My sense of humour, for example, is way too harsh for this medium and I would probably offend some people. I sometimes take photos and say to people watching me “this is going on my blog!”

Q4. Did blogs cause positive changes in your thoughts? Nah – it’s still a cesspool of smut and humour… I just don’t put most of it here!

Q5. Do you only open the blogs of those who comment on your blog or you love to go and discover more by yourself? I explore – a lot, when time permits. Lately I’ve been super, super busy, so I’ve even missed going to the sites of those that actually read my blog. When I get the chance, I like to browse Technorati and check out others, as well as follow the links that some put in the sidebars of their web sites.

Q6. What does visitors counter mean to you? Do you care about putting it in your blog? I use SiteMeter so that I know where people are coming from. If they are searching and finding me or through other blogs. It tells me that people are coming, and if there is any particular reason they are coming. If I enjoy writing about that sort of topic I might address it again, but it won’t rule me. This is my space!

Put a face to this!Q7. Did you try to imagine your fellow bloggers and give them real pictures? No – I have reasons for my privacy, and I don’t need to know the faces of others.

Q8. Do you think there is a real benefit for blogging? I wanted to document what I do and be able to communicate with others. That other people who I have never met before come and visit me and take an interest in my posts is a benefit. When I have more time, the writing can be cathartic… but as some of it is quite personal, I don’t post a lot of it. I have a private blog for that… ;)

Q9. Do you think that bloggers’ society is isolated from real world or interacts with events? In my opinion there are those that are waaaaay too isolated… and there are those that react to the ‘real world’ around them. I prefer the latter.

Q10. Does criticism annoy you or do you feel it’s a normal thing? It’s normal. Somebody kick me if I ever get perfect!

Q11. Do you fear some political blogs and avoid them? I don’t fear them, however I don’t visit them. Politics doesn’t interest me for the game that it is. Having said that I have a lot of beliefs about what a society should do – however unless I’m ready to get involved in politics, I don’t believe that I should sit on the virtual sideline and take pot shots – it should be either get involved and do something or shut the hell up!

Q12. Did you get shocked by the arrest of some bloggers? Some yes, some no. I live in Singapore and that’s just the way things might be. Know the rules (and the risks) or don’t play.

Q13. Did you think about what will happen to your blog after you die? Actually, I’ve thought about this. Not sure. Will it be here forever? No (as I host my own on a virtual server and the payments will stop). What should I do about it? Not sure. Does it matter? Probably not.

Q14. What do you like to hear? What’s the song you might like to put a link to, in your blog? I do love music, but I can’t settle on any one track to list on my blog… sorry *shrug*

I’m required to tag some people. There is no obligation to respond. Enjoy!

Heyy Steph,

Thanks for sharing with us though I knew quite a few of them thru your blog. That was one of the reasons not to tag you but never knew the world is so small. :P

I agree with Craver, the picture has something in it. ;)

Gosh !!

Now David is doubly tagged… thru you & thru me. :)

David, don’t run away. You gotta do now. :D

Craver, I thought you might like that! It’s a long tag, however some questions were quite good.

Cuckoo – yes I know I have stated most of this before, but I didn’t mind answering as there were some things that I had thought about but hadn’t given voice to – like the what happens when I die question?

Sorry for tagging David twice – I should have checked!

Thanks to you both for sticking with me through my slow period!
