LadyT – I think you will find that you can even attend djembe PLAYING workshops and classes. I hear that there are a lot of drum circles in major cities around the world… So you can play instead of just listen.

I started 2 years ago with absolutely NO musical background, and while I am not fabulous, I can certainly keep a beat in a drum circle! And I love it!

I hope you check it out!

Good to hear you’re feeling better.

Djembe playing…I didnt know it was popular here, i’ll have to look into that and see if I can go see a show.

I’m feeling better, thanks!

My djembe teacher goes to Africa every year to learn djembe from his djembefola – Mamady Keita. Kelvin teaches us very traditional rhythms, from what I understand.

We have a couple of African girls in the classes… I hear that djembe playing is very popular in Britain as well.
