Have you seen the latest Apple Advert? It’s called ‘Misunderstood’ and is an alternate view on the texting teen that will leave all the sensitives among us with a tear or two in our eyes. It’s a touchy-freely Christmas Ad that will have all of us recording family moments with our latest gadgets.
If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out on the Apple Home Page, or youtube has it as well.
One thing that it has done is highlighted the need to record all your home videos in landscape mode. That’s with the short end of the phone pointing to the side.
Yeah, I know… I could have gotten all sentimental and sh!t and gone on about the importance of spending time with your family. Or about how teens are misunderstood and needed to be included in family events. Yadayadayada…
Nope… Basically I think it’s sad when you have taken a video holding the phone vertically, and it’s a cute video… But then when you try and play it on any screen bigger than your hand (eg. Your television), the awesome portion gets relegated to the less-than-a-third strip down the middle of the screen, with two black bars on the side. It’s happened to me, and it makes me want to face palm.
So if you are taking videos this season, avoid VVS – Vertical Video Syndrome.
