DH and I go to this place quite a bit – has pizza just the way Dearest likes it. His favourite is the house special with an egg in the middle – he usually asks the egg to be the consistency of mucus (half cooked for those that don’t like to be quite so gross with their food descriptions).
We were greeted with a free Aperitif upon arrival – a sparkling Italian white wine – which cleared our pallets nicely for the coming meal. I’m a bit of a bubbly drinker, and probably would have gone for a bottle of the stuff, however the gents I was with prefer reds.
Mondo Mio’s did not disappoint – the Nepolitana pizza did come out with fewer anchovies than Dearest likes, however upon remarking on this to the server, he was promptly given a little saucer with extra anchovies that he could then layer on as he pleased! I don’t blame them on that – anchovies are usually quite peculiar to individual tastes. So if you do order and want extra anchovies – say so at the time of ordering, otherwise you usually end up with one per slice.
I was impressed by the special this time – ravioli stuffed with cheese and spinach with a vine tomato and cherry tomato sauce. Cooked beautifully and tasty.
We ordered a reasonable Merlot from Chile ($38) and for three people, the bill came to S$120 – not bad for three mains, dessert and wine. The tiramisu is nice, and a generous portion. I can’t eat the stuff – somehow it always comes straight back up minutes after it goes down. No idea why. Love the sorbet, though – nice and lemony!

We could go here in Feb! But no anchovies for me… (although I’ll have your helping of the tiramisu)
